Washington Community Schools has earned district-wide STEM certification from STEM.org, recognizing its commitment to high-quality, future-focused science, technology, engineering, and math education. The national distinction highlights the district’s fully aligned K–12 STEM pathway, which includes Project Lead The Way coursework, robotics programs at every level, and a newly launched K–12 Microelectronics curriculum focused on semiconductor concepts and emerging technologies. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Steve Peterson said the recognition reflects the intentional work of teachers and the district’s commitment to preparing students for college, careers, and technical fields.
