A Crane man was killed in a crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 69 in Greene County. Indiana State Police say troopers were called around 4:21 a.m. to mile marker 100 near Springville, where they found a truck overturned in the interstate median. During their investigation, officers located 39-year-old Brandon M. Koontz of Crane about 50 feet from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate the truck left the roadway, entered a ditch in the median, became airborne, and rolled before coming to rest. Investigators believe Koontz was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Police say the crash appears to have involved only one vehicle, and the investigation remains ongoing. Toxicology results are pending, and officials have not yet determined why the truck left the roadway.
