Organizers are preparing for the Hatchet Sports Gala, which will return April 18 at the Daviess County 4-H Fairgrounds. Event organizers say the gala is held every other year and serves as a major fundraiser for all 17 Washington High School athletic programs. Each team is helping sell $50 tickets, with proceeds going directly back to support the teams and their booster clubs. The evening will feature a catered meal, live music, a silent auction, and a new live auction, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Organizers say the event helps provide funding for equipment, meals, and other needs for student-athletes across Washington’s athletic programs.
