Emergency crews responded to a pair of fires Tuesday afternoon in the Washington and Plainville areas. According to dispatch reports, firefighters were first called around 3:50 p.m. to a fully engulfed vehicle fire east of Plainville. While crews were still working that scene, a second call came in around 4:20 p.m. for a loader fire in a field near County Road 375 West and 850 North. Officials say the loader was fully engulfed, with reports of exploding tires and a possible fuel leak contributing to the fire. The flames also began spreading into the surrounding field. Washington Township was called in to assist Plainville crews, and both departments worked to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported, and all units cleared the scene later in the evening.
