The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has announced this year’s Free Fishing Days, giving residents the opportunity to fish public waters without a license or trout/salmon stamp. In 2026, Free Fishing Days will be held on May 10, June 6 and 7, and September 26. The days are designed to encourage new anglers to try fishing and provide families and friends a chance to enjoy time on the water together. For those who plan to fish outside of those dates, officials remind anglers that 2025 licenses expired March 31, and a new 2026 fishing license is required.
