According to dispatch reports, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Elm and Race streets when the child was struck by a vehicle. Initial reports indicated the juvenile suffered significant head injuries and was unresponsive at the scene. First responders provided immediate medical care, and the child was first transported to Daviess Community Hospital before being airlifted to a hospital in Evansville. The juvenile was transferred to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment. The driver remained on scene, and the crash is under investigation.
