James J. Boyd Sr., 83, of Vincennes, IN passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on April 26, 2026. He was born in Vincennes, IN on March 31, 1943, to the late Samuel and Mary Boyd. James attended Lincoln High School and Olney Central College. He worked for many years as a controlman for Texaco Oil Refining, Clark Oil Refining, and Indian Refining before retiring. He married the love of his life, Bonita Pinkstaff, on April 19, 1964. James proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. In his free time James enjoyed hunting, fishing, maintaining his yard, tending to his vegetable and flower garden, cooking, watching the History channel, vacationing in the smokey mountains, and spending time with his favorite grandchild Shelby. He will be deeply missed.
James is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Mary Boyd; wife Bonita Boyd; siblings Alice Helton, Rosemary Young, Samuel Boyd and 3 infants.
He is survived by his children Jim (DeeDee) Boyd and Brandi Hanna; granddaughter Shelby Hanna; siblings Linda (Mike) Douglas, Cheryl (Mike) Armes, and Kathy (John) Gregory.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Boyd. A burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date.
