A community clean-up effort is returning to Washington this weekend. Burkhart Insurance is hosting its fourth annual “Clean Sweep” event tomorrow from 9 to 11 a.m. Teams will gather at the Economic Development parking lot on Main Street before spreading out across the city to collect trash. Participants will earn $10 per bag of trash collected, with proceeds donated to a nonprofit organization of their choice. Each team can raise up to $250. Supplies, including bags and gloves, will be provided. Organizers say the clean-up will take place rain or shine. Those interested in participating can contact Burkhart Insurance to register.
