A fresh new chapter is beginning at the Loogootee Senior Center, thanks in part to the creativity and community spirit of Loogootee High School senior Ella Parker. As part of her community service project, Parker is painting a vibrant mural to spark the center’s revitalization. Her work marks the start of an effort led by the Martin County Alliance for Economic Growth, in collaboration with the City of Loogootee, Loogootee High School, and the Martin County Council on Aging. The project aims to transform the Senior Center into a multigenerational space. With more than 21% of Loogootee’s residents over age 65, organizers say the project is essential. More updates are expected as the initiative progresses.
