A Dubois Circuit Court judge has ruled that property owners must allow the Indiana Department of Transportation access to land for survey work tied to the Mid-States Corridor project. Judge Nathan Verkamp granted a preliminary injunction on May 16 after several landowners had blocked surveyors. The ruling affirms INDOT’s legal right to enter properties under state law. While the case remains active, INDOT can now move forward with site assessments as part of the project’s planning phase.
