Portions of State Road 59 Main Street in Linton were closed due to building collapse last night around 8pm. The building was known as the Old G.C. Murphy Store. State Road 59 between State Road 54 and SE C Street was closed for safety as the cleanup began. The building had housed a few small businesses since Murphy’s was closed but was empty at the time of the collapse. No word on any injuries. The collapse came just two days after the state’s largest Independence Day Parade was held in Linton on Friday down Main Street.
