Local and county officials gathered Tuesday to break ground on Oak Street Village, a $14.6 million workforce housing development in Loogootee. The project, spanning 5.5 acres, will feature one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with monthly rents ranging from $475 to $1,391. In addition to housing, the development will bring major community benefits, including a 4,500-square-foot public childcare center offering 60 new seats, expanded pickleball courts, a public pavilion and playground, and on-site management. Construction is underway, with leasing expected to begin in mid-2026 and full completion by November 2026.
