Larry Gilbert Jr., aged 34, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away on August 17, 2025, in his hometown. Larry was born on June 11, 1991, to Larry Gilbert Sr. and Valerie Marsh in Knox County, Indiana.
After receiving his GED and completing a semester of college coursework in HVAC, Larry worked as a skilled HVAC maintenance technician. In his free time, Larry found his love for fishing—there was no place he felt more at peace than by the waterside. With the same patience and attention to detail that he brought to his work, he also explored his creative side through painting.
Larry leaves behind many who will miss him dearly: his daughters, Kayleigh and Sophia Gilbert, his parents, his sisters, Lisa Guetig and Jessica Davis, his maternal grandparents, Ronald and Shirley Marsh, and his two nieces and four nephews. Larry was preceded by his paternal grandparents, John and Evelyn Gilbert, and his uncle, Chester Marsh.
His loss is a keenly felt absence that echoes in the spaces they all formerly filled with laughter and shared memories.
Larry Gilbert Jr.’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, yet the warmth of his memory continues to shine. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate Larry’s life, remembering him for the richness and affection he brought into their lives. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever live on through the love he gave and the memories he created with his loved ones.
