The Loogootee Senior Center, also known as the Community Roots Project, is getting a major update thanks to more than $30,000 in grant funding from the Being for Others Health & Wellness Foundation and the Martin County Community Foundation. The 2,200-square-foot space will be renovated to better serve seniors while also expanding into multigenerational programming. Students from Shoals and Loogootee schools will be involved in the effort. Organizers say the project honors the contributions of older residents while creating a welcoming hub for people of all ages to connect, learn, and share in community life.
