Daviess Community Hospital will hold a barbecue carry-out fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. to benefit its Child Passenger Safety Program. Meals, priced at $12, include pulled pork, cheesy potatoes, green beans, and a cookie, and will be available on the second-floor balcony near the OB Department until sold out. Proceeds will support staff training and provide special car seats, car beds, and other resources for families. The program offers car seat checks, community clinics, and replacement seats for eligible families. Hospital officials note that car crashes remain the leading cause of death for children under 14.
