Emergency crews responded Tuesday afternoon to a farm accident after a man was trapped under a tractor that overturned into water near 6891 E 550 N in Montgomery. The call came in around 4:15 p.m. reporting that the tractor had flipped upside down, pinning the driver, identified as 54-year-old John Wagler. Officials said his nose remained above water, and a doctor who arrived on scene confirmed he was breathing. Multiple agencies, including the Plainville Volunteer Fire Department, Daviess County deputies, and EMS, responded. Crews requested an air evacuation, but medics later diverted transport to Daviess Community Hospital. The tractor, a mid-size John Deere, was later removed from the water by Briggeman’s wrecker service. Emergency personnel cleared the scene shortly before 6 p.m. The extent of Wagler’s injuries has not been released.
