Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a fatal off-road vehicle crash that occurred Sunday evening near Winslow in Pike County. Authorities say 50-year-old John G. Goodall of Oakland City was leaving his deer hunting area near Old State Road 64 and State Road 257 when his ORV overturned, trapping him underneath. His spouse, who was hunting nearby, heard the crash and called 911. Despite life-saving efforts, Goodall was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation. Conservation Officers remind the public to always wear helmets, protective gear, and use safety restraints when operating ORVs. Assisting agencies included the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Patoka Township Fire Department, and Pike County EMS.
