The Smithville Charitable Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC) to begin the first phase of a countywide gateway and wayfinding signage initiative, starting with a new entry sign for the City of Washington. The project, led in partnership with the Daviess County Visitors Bureau and the City of Washington, aims to improve navigation, enhance safety, and strengthen community identity across Daviess County. The Washington gateway sign will serve as the pilot model for future signage throughout the county. The Request for Proposals (RFP) for qualified design firms is now open, with submissions due by November 17, 2025. More information is available at VisitDaviessCounty.com.
