The Washington Parks & Recreation Department will host its annual Safe Stop event on Friday, October 31, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Eastside Park. This family-friendly, half-mile walking trail offers a safe and festive environment for trick-or-treating, with dozens of stops along the route beginning at the park office and looping north around the park. Visitors are asked to park in the main lot. Local businesses, churches, and community groups are invited to participate by setting up tables to hand out candy. Those interested can call 812-254-6010 for details. Organizers encourage everyone to come in costume and enjoy a night of Halloween fun.
