Youth football is making a comeback in Martin County. Aaron Johnson, acting president of the Martin County Raiders, announced the program is officially being revived after a year of planning. Johnson, a former Raiders player and youth coach, said the organization has secured its nonprofit status and is now working on fundraising, grant opportunities, and equipment purchases in hopes of fielding teams by fall 2026. The Raiders plan to use Crane Field as their home field and will coordinate with surrounding counties for game scheduling. Organizers say the program will be open to boys and girls and are seeking community support, including volunteers, coaches, board members, and sponsors. Johnson said the goal is to rebuild the program as a positive, community-driven opportunity for local youth to learn football fundamentals and teamwork. More information and updates will be shared through the Martin County Youth Football League Facebook page as fundraising efforts begin.
