An 18-year-old Martinsville man was arrested early Saturday morning following a traffic stop on I-69 near Washington. Indiana State Police say Trooper Aaron Guzman stopped a vehicle for speeding on February 28. During the stop, the driver, identified as Dalton Atkins, showed signs of impairment, and suspected marijuana was found inside the vehicle. Atkins was taken to Daviess Community Hospital for a chemical test before being transported to the Daviess County Jail. He is charged with Operating While Intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, and Possession of Marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor. A passenger, 19-year-old Eden Burpo of Martinsville, was cited for Possession of Marijuana and released. All charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
