The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating claims that weapons may be missing from its evidence room. The allegation surfaced on social media from a former sheriff’s office employee. In response, a detective with the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office is working with an outside agency and Gibson County Attorney Jason Spindler to review the situation. Officials say the investigation is focused on the status of weapons that were taken into evidence on December 4, 2013 during a criminal investigation in which Mr. Frederick and his wife were not suspects. The sheriff’s office says the investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
