Honi “Michele” Overton, 50, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 in Bloomington, Indiana, surrounded by her family.
Born on April 20, 1975, she was the beloved daughter of Benton and Lucy (Carroll) Burris.
Michele was a dedicated hairdresser for 25 years, touching the lives of those who sat in her chair. Known as Mimi, she greatly enjoyed taking her grandchildren on golf cart rides. Michele spent many of her days outdoors—around the campfire, hiking, fishing, and, most importantly, with family. She also loved to travel. She made sure to capture the memories of all the family by being the photographer. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and the love she shared with family and friends will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Michele was preceded in death by her parents. She will be lovingly remembered by her fiancé, Matt Shoultz; her children: Chastin Burris, Phillip Overton, and Lexis Overton; her grandchildren: Ezny Sluder and Havilynn Burris; siblings: Benny Lynn (Craig) Cain, Jerry “Jeb” (Dawn) Burris, Bryan (Tiffany) Burris and several nieces and nephews.
