
The Washington School Board held its March meeting Thursday night.
In personnel matters, the Board approved the resignations of two long-time high school staff members, English teacher Angela Barnard and Guidance Counselor Allison Jochum. Emily Shake was granted a leave of absence. The Board also received the resignation of elementary teacher Hallie Browning. In other personnel matters, the Board approved the following hires: Jeremy Adams, Career Coach; Riley Reed, Washington Primary Library Assistant; and Thania Ibarra, Instructional Assistant.
In other business, the Board heard a report from high school principal Brian Holland and junior high principal Cody Chapman on a plan to expand high school credit offerings to the junior high.
The Board also approved these out-of-town trips and resolutions: the Washington Winds Overnight Out of State Trip, the Hatchet Dance Overnight Trip, and a resolution regarding the use of social media in the school system.
The Board also recognized the employees of the month: Meg Hinkle, Alisha Hand, and Mandee Dawson.
