Amanda Sue Sutton, 35, of Loogootee, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

She was born on October 27, 1990 to Aaron Sturgill and Loretta (Tony) Newhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She married Brian Sutton on September 8, 2016, and he survives.

Amanda lived her life with a servant’s heart, always placing the needs of others before her own. The kindness and love she showed could be seen in everything she did. As a CNA working in nursing homes, she cared for her residents with patience, compassion, and dignity, leaving a lasting impact on those she served. Her greatest devotion, however, was to her children, family, and friends, whom she loved fiercely and cared for endlessly. Amanda found joy in cooking for loved ones, fishing, hunting, and spending peaceful time near the water. Her strong faith in God and gratitude for life’s blessings remained steadfast, carrying her through her long and courageous battle with illness. Her sister writes:

“Amanda was not only my sister but my truest friend and confidant.  Her unwavering support, infectious laugh and guiding me with her wisdom shaped my life in ways I’ll cherish forever.  Now you can rest without the pain and worries. I’ll miss you each and every day until we fly together.  Fly high, baby sis.  I love you so much, Alicia. “

Amanda is survived by her husband, Brian; her parents: Aaron Sturgill and Loretta Newhouse; grandmother, Hattie Sturgill; children: Sadie, Izabell, and Izah Sutton; sister, Alicia (Justin) Wiscaver; nieces and nephews: Sara Bird (son, Weston), Trevor Sturgill; Gracie Wiscaver, and Emma Wiscaver; In-laws: Dr. Larry Sutton, and his wife, Julie; Brother and sisters-in-law: Mark (Andrea) Sutton (children: Chelsie and Mallorie Sutton), Angie Brookshire (children: Cameron, Luke, and Katie Callison) and Stephanie (Chris) Vise (son, Marshall); special friends: Ashley Taylor and Chassidy (Tye) Collins (daughter, Kennedy), Doug & Rosie Bridges, and John and Mary Jane Knepp.

A public visitation will take place from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana.  Cremation was chosen according to her wishes.
