
Emergency crews responded to a personal injury crash Wednesday morning on Old U.S. Highway 50 west of Washington. According to dispatch reports, a vehicle struck a utility pole and ended up in a ditch near Old U.S. Highway 50 in front of Tabor Owens Contruction shortly after 9:15 a.m. Initial callers reported a man lying in a nearby field and smoke coming from the vehicle. Officials later said the driver was alert and speaking with responders, but complained of back pain. Medics, firefighters, law enforcement, and utility crews all responded to the scene. Washington Light and Power said the crash damaged a utility pole, but crews restored power quickly. Traffic in the area was impacted while crews worked the scene.
