A fatal single-vehicle crash is currently under investigation by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon and claimed the life of a 64-year-old Ferdinand man named Stanley R. Vonderheide. Authorities swiftly responded to the crash report around 2 p.m. on County Road 200 West, just south of Sunset Drive in Huntingburg. Vonderheide was driving southbound when, for reasons yet to be determined, his vehicle veered off the west side of the road. Emergency services transported him by ambulance to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, where he was tragically pronounced dead as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash. The family of Stanley R. Vonderheide has been notified about this devastating incident.
