Betty J. (Roark) Hostetter, 83, of Elnora, Indiana, passed from this life to Heaven, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Heart to Heart Hospice House in Evansville. She was born on May 24, 1940, in Elnora to Amos and Erma (Rogers) Roark. Betty married John Edward Hostetter on October 29, 1955.
Betty was a member of the Elnora United Methodist Church. She was a retired cook from the North Daviess School Corporation. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, refinishing furniture, cooking, baking, and preserving garden produce. Betty especially loved spending time with her family.
Family left to cherish the memory of Betty include: her husband, Ed Hostetter; two sons: Dwayne E. Hostetter (Jeanette) of Bloomfield and Kevin L. Hostetter of Elnora; one daughter, Connie J. Fuller (Bill) of Elnora; grandchildren, Jennifer Andrews (Aaron), Bethany Martin (Cody), Andrea Rensch (Matthew), Kristen Morrison (Jordan), Lauren Morton (Zachary), Devin Hostetter and Tyler Hostetter; great-grandchildren, Havyn, Avery, Elliot, Seth, Oliver, Silas, Hallie, Amelia, Emery and Peyton; sister, Carolyn Sue Gee (Clair) of Bloomington. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Christopher Fuller; brothers, William Harold, Amos, Jr., Virgil and Billy Roark; sisters, Genevieve Woodruff, June Rafferty, Mary Syester and Patricia Higgs.
Funeral services to honor the life of Betty will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Stew Cobine officiating. Betty will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
