The Martin County Community Foundation (MCCF) is showing its support for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library by granting two $500 Make My Day grants for Martin County children. This program, available to every child from birth to age 5, provides a book every month, regardless of their family background. Donations of any amount are welcome, as it costs only $13 a year per child. The Martin County Alliance launched the program and secured donations to cover the first year’s costs. The Psi Iota Xi – Gamma Iota sorority in Shoals has volunteered to manage the Martin County Dolly Parton Imagination Library. They aim to continue providing books to young children for years to come. Their next goal is to raise $13,000 to fund the program for five years at no cost to participating families.

To donate and help provide books to children, contact Psi Iota Xi President Audra Deckard at 812-631-3271 or email GammaIotaSorority@hotmail.com. Donations can also be sent by mail to Psi Iota Xi – Gamma Iota, ATTN: Dolly Parton Imagination Library, PO Box 261, Shoals, IN 47581.
