Gerri Lyn (Thompson) Dant, 51, passed away at her Washington residence on May 7, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born on May 24, 1972, in Washington, to Jerry and Karlene Rose (Hagemeir) Thompson. On August 26, 2017, Gerri married her best friend and the love of her life, Francis Marion “Nay” Dant, Jr. With a heavy heart, Nay survives.

Gerri was a 1991 graduate of Washington High School who went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal at Vincennes University in 1993. During her work life, she was employed at the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village and Check Into Cash. Gerri was happiest as a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family – especially her granddaughters. She was known to be a wonderful cook. As a woman of many interests, Gerri enjoyed fishing, singing and dancing, coloring, having coffee with friends, and exploring her family history through genealogy.

Gerri believed in Jesus Christ and was strong in her faith. She was a devoted member of Church on The Way.

Those who now mourn Gerri’s passing include her husband, Nay Dant; daughter, Maci (Seth) Briggeman; sons, Brent Wilson, Jr. and Jesse Wilson. She leaves her two beloved granddaughters, Nevaeh Briggeman and Sofia Wilson. Additionally, Gerri leaves two brothers, Chris (Tricia) Thompson, and Jeff Thompson.

Gerri knew the sorrow that comes with loss with the passing of her parents, Jerry Thompson and Karlene Hagemeir; and two infant sons born sleeping, Mason and Kyle Wilson. She lost her special friend and mentor, Madonna Jones, but now, will be reunited with her in Heaven.

Visitation for Gerri Lyn Dant will be 11:00 am – 1:30 pm, Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.

Funeral services for Gerri Lyn Dant will immediately follow the visitation on Monday, May 13, 2024, and begin at 1:30 pm, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Pastor Brad Rainey will officiate. Burial will be in the New Veale Creek Cemetery.
