The shelter is open extended hours for you to pick up your family pet, and they have an abundance of dogs and cats looking for homes.

Pike County has the same issue, as overcrowding and funding have become big issues for the local shelter. Ashley Willis tells us they have organized a benefit to raise money for the shelter next Saturday, August 16th, at The Vault in downtown Petersburg…

The event will kick off at 6:30pm next Saturday, and all money raised will go to the Pike County Shelter.
