Multiple fire departments responded late yesterday morning to a sawmill fire in the Madison Township area. Around 10:45 a.m., crews were dispatched to reports of several log piles on fire, with tanker units requested to help supply water. The Cannelburg Fire Department says Tanker 2 was used as an additional pumper to assist with operations. Firefighters were able to bring the situation under control, and units cleared the scene shortly after noon. Assisting agencies included Daviess County Central Dispatch, Madison Odon Township Fire Department, Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department, Plainville Volunteer Fire Department, Taylor Township Fire Department, and the Elnora Elmore Volunteer Fire Department.
