Two additional arrests have been made in connection to a deadly shooting in a parking lot on Pearl Drive in Evansville. According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Evansville Police responded April 14 to reports of shots fired at a theater parking lot. Officers found a man dead inside a black Dodge Durango at the bottom of a wooded embankment, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Kardae Langley was arrested that evening and charged with murder and robbery. As the investigation continued, authorities identified two more suspects. Investigators say 19-year-old Deshawndre Brown was located at a hotel in St. Louis, Missouri, with the help of Flock Safety camera technology. He was taken into custody without incident Tuesday evening and is expected to be extradited to Indiana on a murder warrant. A second suspect, 18-year-old Pierce Butler, was arrested later that night at a residence on South Kentucky Avenue in Evansville. Police executed a search warrant at the home, and Butler was taken into custody without incident. Both Brown and Butler are facing charges of murder and robbery, a Level 1 felony. Officials say the investigation is ongoing, with more charges possible. Authorities have executed more than 20 search warrants so far and warn that anyone who assisted the suspects could face felony charges.
