
Washington Mayor Dave Rhoads recently provided an update on city activities, highlighting a busy month ahead for the community. Rhoads outlined several upcoming events including the National Day of Prayer on May 7, a BBQ cook-off at Eastside Park on May 9, and multiple city meetings, including council sessions and board meetings. Rhoads also pointed to community events such as Pioneer Days, National Peace Officers Day, and a community concert set for May 30 at the high school auditorium. He added that Food Truck Tuesdays will return in the coming weeks, along with continued First Friday concerts at The Commons. On the infrastructure side, the mayor said work on the Highway 50 project is nearing completion, with crews focusing on final details throughout May. Rhoads said that May is typically one of the busiest months of the year in Washington.
