Officials in Knox County say another semi truck became stuck Wednesday morning on Old Bruceville Road after failing to follow the approved detour around the State Road 67 closure near the south fork of Smalls Creek south of Bruceville. Authorities say Old Bruceville Road was not designed to handle heavy truck traffic and are reminding drivers to use the official detour by taking US 41 to State Road 550 and reconnecting with State Road 67 at Bruceville. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says citations will be issued for future violations involving trucks ignoring the posted detour route. Officials acknowledged the detour is longer, but stressed it is in place for safety and to prevent trucks from becoming stuck on unsuitable roads.
