Crews with Daviess-Martin County REMC worked throughout the day restoring power after strong winds and heavy rain moved through the area yesterday. The early morning storm caused power outages for several REMC members, prompting linemen to respond quickly to begin repair work and restore service as safely and efficiently as possible. In a post on social media, the utility also thanked Martin County Sheriff Josh Greene, who assisted crews by bringing a boat to help them reach flooded areas where damaged equipment needed to be repaired. REMC officials said they are proud of their linemen’s efforts and grateful for the teamwork and community support that helped restore power despite challenging weather conditions.
