Indiana State Police Investigate Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on State Road 64 Near Eckerty

Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on State Road 64 near Eckerty. The crash occurred when a Ford F-150, driven by Gerald Jarvis, 86, of Evansville, crossed the center line into the eastbound lane and sideswiped a black 1999 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Ashtin Aders, 17, of Saint Meinrad. The Camaro veered off the road into a ditch, while the Ford flipped over onto its top. Riley Mullis, 18, a rear passenger in the Camaro, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Crawford County Coroner. Jarvis was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Aders and the front passenger, Connor Mullis, 19, of Bristow, were transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. All occupants were wearing seatbelts. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time. Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
