WEVV Channel 44 in Evansville has officially been sold to Gray Media Inc., with the transaction finalized on May 1. The sale, first announced in August 2025, transfers ownership from Allen Media Group to Gray Media, which already owns WFIE Channel 14 in Evansville. The deal was part of a larger $171 million agreement that included multiple television stations across the South and Midwest. Company officials say the acquisition will allow Gray Media to expand its presence into additional markets. Employees at WEVV were notified of the completed sale last week, with more details about the transition expected to follow.
