Oakland City University has announced it will suspend its undergraduate program for the 2026-27 academic year. University officials said online graduate programs will continue to operate during the suspension. The university also said it will continue efforts to sell its carbon capture patent, with hopes of reopening once those efforts are successful. According to the statement, the university’s final day of operations for now will be May 31, 2026. Officials asked the community to keep students, faculty, staff, alumni and the entire OCU community in their thoughts and prayers.
