On the evening of February 26th, at approximately 10:14 p.m., a vehicle fire was reported just north of an intersection at State Road 58 and US Highway 231 in Odon. Witnesses reported seeing flames coming from what appeared to be a Chevy S10 truck. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene, with Truck 51 en route just six minutes after the initial call was received. Waglers was contacted to assist with the situation. According to the police report, Officer Noble reported that he had spoken with the individual to whom the vehicle was registered, who claimed to have never owned a Ford Ranger, which was a surprise to responders who had previously identified the vehicle as a Chevy S10. At 11:27 p.m., officers reported that Waglers had finally taken control of the vehicle, although no further information was provided on the extent of the damage or the cause of the fire.
